Ireland Student Visa Updates :Financial Proof Requirement Increased and New TrustEd Ireland Framework Introduced

In addition, Ireland has begun transitioning from the Interim List of Eligible Programmes (ILEP) to the new TrustEd Ireland framework. Under this reform, only full-time, daytime courses approved under the TrustEd system will qualify for non-EEA student immigration. This ensures quality assurance and institutional accountability in international education recruitment.

These updates aim to enhance the integrity and efficiency of Ireland’s international education system by ensuring that students are financially prepared and that institutions meet rigorous academic and operational standards.

For Indian and other visa-required nationals, financial proof will continue to be assessed at the visa application stage. Applicants must provide recent bank statements (minimum six months), evidence of tuition fee payment, and supporting documents if sponsored.

Students pursuing full-time eligible programmes will continue to enjoy the right to work part-time for up to 20 hours per week during term time and 40 hours per week during designated holidays.

These new financial and course-eligibility rules took effect from 30 June 2025 and will apply to students commencing studies in 2026 and beyond.
