Federation University Australia has been honoured with multiple top awards at the 2025 Victorian International Education Awards — most notably the prestigious Premier’s Award for International Education Provider of the Year.
The Premier’s Award — the highest recognition for international education in Victoria — recognises Federation University’s long-term commitment to supporting international students’ academic, professional and personal success.
In addition, Federation’s innovative Co operative Education Model earned the Excellence in International Student Employability and Career Development Award, spotlighting its emphasis on real-world work experience. Under this model, students take paid placements that count toward their qualifications — without extending the normal duration of their degree.
These paid “Co-op” placements have translated into strong employment outcomes: Federation is now ranked number one in Victoria for postgraduate employment and number two for undergraduate employment.
Leadership at the university expressed pride and gratitude. Vice-Chancellor & President Duncan Bentley said the awards underscore Federation’s firm belief in the value of international students and reaffirm the university’s commitment to their success — both in Victoria and globally. Likewise, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Global, Engagement & Quality Carolyn Chong noted that while the recognition is welcome, the real reward lies in seeing students succeed through the support, placements and opportunities the university provides.
The 2025 Victorian International Education Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of students, recent graduates, and education providers — reinforcing Victoria’s standing as a leading global destination for international education.
