National College of Ireland’s 75th Anniversary Comes with Good News for International Students

July 27, 2026

A milestone celebration at National College of Ireland is creating a fresh opportunity for international students planning postgraduate study in Ireland. Introduced as part of the institution’s 75th anniversary, the latest initiative reflects its continued focus on supporting talented applicants from around the world while strengthening its international outlook.

A milestone celebration at the National College of Ireland (NCI) is creating a fresh opportunity for international students planning postgraduate study in Ireland. Marking its 75th anniversary, NCI launched a €75,000 scholarship fund for international students applying to eligible taught Master’s programmes beginning in September 2026. The initiative offers selected applicants a 50% reduction in tuition fees, placing financial support at the heart of the institution’s anniversary celebrations. The scholarship, however, is not simply a tuition discount, with the college placing equal emphasis on recognising merit and potential.

Rather than offering the award to every eligible applicant, the college has introduced a competitive selection process that considers multiple aspects of a student’s profile. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance, relevant work experience and the strength of the applicant’s Statement of Purpose (SOP). By combining academic achievement with professional experience and personal motivation, the institution aims to identify candidates who demonstrate both the ability to succeed in postgraduate study and the potential to make meaningful contributions to their chosen fields. Those successful in securing the scholarship will also study in programmes selected for their relevance to Ireland’s changing employment landscape.

The scholarship is available for taught Master’s programmes in Data Analytics, Fintech, Cybersecurity and Human Resource Management. These disciplines continue to attract growing interest as businesses across Ireland respond to digital transformation, technological innovation and evolving workforce requirements. By focusing the anniversary scholarship on these programmes, NCI is encouraging postgraduate study in areas where specialist knowledge and practical expertise remain highly valued. The choice of programmes also reflects the wider purpose behind the institution’s anniversary initiative.

While the scholarship celebrates an important milestone in the college’s history, it also highlights a broader commitment to strengthening its international community. Universities increasingly use landmark anniversaries to introduce initiatives that extend beyond commemorating the past, creating opportunities that support future students and reinforce long-term academic priorities. For NCI, the scholarship combines a celebration of 75 years of education with an investment in attracting talented postgraduate students from around the world. For prospective applicants, that wider vision ultimately becomes a practical opportunity to pursue advanced study with meaningful financial support.

With the scholarship fund available for a limited number of applicants, students interested in the September 2026 intake should carefully review the eligibility criteria and programme requirements before applying. As competition is expected to be merit-based, prospective candidates are encouraged to prepare strong applications that demonstrate their academic achievements, relevant professional experience and clear study objectives. By linking its 75th anniversary with a scholarship that supports future international talent, National College of Ireland is ensuring the milestone is remembered not only for its history but also for the opportunities it creates.
