Swinburne University of Technology has announced its 2026 international scholarship program, offering tuition fee reductions of up to 30% for eligible international students. The scholarships apply to selected undergraduate, postgraduate, and pathway programs at the university’s Hawthorn campus in Melbourne. As Australia continues to attract students from around the world, scholarship opportunities remain an important factor for those planning their study abroad journey.
The 2026 scholarship program includes several funding opportunities for international students. The Swinburne International Scholarship provides a 20% tuition fee reduction for eligible students who meet the university’s scholarship requirements. The George Swinburne International Excellence Scholarship offers a 30% tuition fee reduction and is awarded in accordance with the university’s scholarship assessment criteria.
In addition to these tuition scholarships, Swinburne is also offering the ELICOS+ Scholarship for students who require English-language preparation before starting their main academic program. The scholarship supports students undertaking approved English language studies as part of their pathway to university admission. Eligible students may receive a refund equivalent to up to 10 weeks of ELICOS tuition fees, subject to the university’s terms and conditions.
One of the key features of the scholarship program is its simplified assessment process. International students do not need to submit a separate scholarship application. Instead, applicants are automatically assessed when they apply for an eligible course beginning in 2026 at the Hawthorn campus. Scholarship eligibility is considered as part of the admissions process, and successful applicants receive scholarship details directly in their offer letter. This approach streamlines the application experience and allows students to understand their scholarship outcome alongside their admission decision.
While the scholarship program covers a broad range of courses, some programs are excluded from eligibility. These include the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting, Master of Physiotherapy, Master of Occupational Therapy, and research degree programs. Prospective students are encouraged to review the university’s official scholarship guidelines and course eligibility requirements before applying to ensure their chosen program qualifies for consideration.
With tuition fee reductions of up to 30% and automatic scholarship consideration, Swinburne University is providing additional financial support for international students starting their studies in 2026. The scholarships may help reduce the overall cost of pursuing higher education in Melbourne while providing eligible students with additional support as they begin their studies in Australia.
