Canberra, The Department of Home Affairs has officially implemented Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) across its ImmiAccount platform, strengthening the security of Australia’s immigration services.
All ImmiAccount users will be required to configure and use an MFA method before accessing their account. This important security measure is designed to better safeguard sensitive visa and personal information from potential threats.
Key Highlights
- Mandatory MFA: All users must set up MFA to continue using their ImmiAccount.
- Flexible Options: Users can select from multiple authentication methods, such as authenticator applications.
- Support Resources: A detailed step-by-step guide is available to help users configure MFA easily.
“This upgrade represents a vital step forward in protecting the integrity of our digital immigration systems,” a Department spokesperson said. “By introducing MFA, we are ensuring that clients’ personal data and visa information remain secure.”
What Users Need to Do
ImmiAccount holders should log in and set up their preferred MFA method immediately to avoid disruptions in accessing services. Those requiring assistance can refer to the official online guide or contact the support team.
